Night Guards
A night guard (occlusal splint, grinding splint) is a hard resin device often necessary in the treatment of cranio-mandibular dysfunction, or neck and head muscle pain. Depending on how the teeth come together, it is placed either in the upper or lower jaw. You wear it while you are sleeping, to prevent you from having direct tooth-to-tooth contact and to relax the chewing muscles. It can also be worn during the day.
At Stockholm Dental Clinic in Puerto Banus (close to Marbella), we make custom-fitted night guards with fully adapted occlusion (bite).
Since by nature you only get one set of adult teeth, all efforts should be made to protect them and therefore, your smile.
